Offshore Platform

About Off-Shore Platform

Installed 1100 meters from the shore, the platform is designed to unload, store, vaporize, and pump ethylene to the Amryia site. It measures 57 meters by 30 meters, covering a total area of 2052 m², and adheres to the international API code (API: RP2A).

The platform accommodates ethylene tankers with capacities ranging from 4000 m³ to 8000 m³ and a maximum draught of 8 meters, situated in waters averaging 14.7 meters deep.

Four berthing dolphins, spaced 60 meters apart, protect the platform from accidental ship impacts while allowing shuttle tankers to berth. Two mooring dolphins, spaced 154 meters apart, facilitate mooring arrangements. Tankers measuring 125 meters in length and 19 meters in width can berth at speeds of up to 0.4 m/s, with an energy capacity of 43 tons/meter.

Platform Structure

Upper Deck: Features a living quarter with 5 sleeping rooms, a living room, kitchen, control room, electric power transformers, and battery room.

Main Deck: Houses essential equipment for platform operations and ethylene storage tanks, including two unloading arms with a discharge capacity of 170 tons/hr.

Storage Tanks: Three horizontal cylindrical tanks made from 9% nickel steel for cryogenic storage of ethylene (-103°C), each with 3000 MT capacity.

Operational Units

The ethylene liquefaction unit re-liquefies vaporized ethylene gas from the tanks at a cooling rate of 6500 kcal/hr, equivalent to 575 kg/hr of liquid ethylene. The ethylene vaporization unit has a capacity of 7500 kg ethylene/h.

Additional units include air production, inert gas production for purging, nitrogen unit, and three electrical power generation units of 0.8 MW each.

Fire Fighting System

Designed per N.F.P. Codes and specifications, the fire fighting system includes:

  • Two diesel fire pumps
  • Water spraying systems
  • Outdoor hydrants
  • Automatic fire alarm system
